Knowing which bank account a payment came from shouldn't require detective work. Link bank accounts to corporations and reconcile in seconds.
When a payment hits your bank account, you need to match it to an invoice. If the payment came from a bank account you've never seen before, you're spending time on detective work: was this from Pinnacle or Horizon? Which invoice is it for? Is the amount correct after currency conversion?
Bank accounts linked to corporations
When each client corporation has its bank accounts registered in your system, payment reconciliation becomes straightforward. You see a payment from Maybank account ending in 7823 — that's Pinnacle Retail. It matches the amount on invoice INV-2. Done.
Your own accounts too
Your agency likely has multiple bank accounts: an MYR operating account for local transactions, a USD account for international clients, maybe a savings account. Registering these lets you track which account received each payment and manage transfers between accounts.
It's basic financial hygiene, but most agency tools ignore it entirely, leaving you to track bank accounts in — you guessed it — a spreadsheet.
