Background

L.O.V.E Succulents is a plant business operating primarily through Shopee, selling succulent arrangements, terrariums, and plant care supplies. What started as a hobby grew into a real business with 180+ SKUs, relationships with multiple suppliers, and seasonal campaigns that drive significant revenue spikes during festive periods.

The problem

As the business grew beyond a hobby, the owner needed to get organized. Supplier invoices were tracked in a notebook. Product costs were calculated in the owner's head. Seasonal campaigns — Hari Raya gift sets, Chinese New Year arrangements, Christmas terrariums — were planned on sticky notes. There was no clear picture of which products were profitable, which suppliers were reliable, and how much revenue each campaign actually generated.

The business didn't need a full-blown ERP system. It needed something simple enough to use daily but structured enough to provide real visibility into the finances.

How they use com1

Item catalog for products and supplies

Every product and supply item is cataloged in com1 with descriptions and standard pricing. When creating an invoice for a wholesale order or a supplier payment record, items are selected from the catalog instead of typed from memory. This ensures consistent naming and pricing across all documents.

Supplier and customer management

Suppliers (soil, pots, plants) and wholesale customers are tracked as corporations in the CRM, each with their contacts, bank details, and transaction history. When a supplier sends an invoice, it's recorded against their corporation record. When a wholesale customer places an order, the invoice references their details automatically.

Seasonal campaign planning

Each seasonal campaign is managed as a project with milestones: Planning, Sourcing, Production, Photography, Listing, and Fulfillment. This structure turned chaotic seasonal rushes into repeatable processes. The notes feature stores supplier contacts, pricing negotiations, and lessons learned from previous campaigns.

Invoicing with PDF export

Wholesale orders and supplier payments are invoiced through com1 with professional PDF exports. The business went from handwritten invoices to clean, branded documents — which made a noticeable difference when approaching corporate clients for bulk orders.

Results

The time spent on invoicing dropped by roughly 70%. More importantly, the business gained financial visibility it never had. The owner can now see total supplier costs per campaign, compare revenue across seasonal periods, and identify which product lines are actually profitable.

The campaign project structure also reduced stress during peak seasons. Instead of scrambling to remember what worked last year, the team follows the same milestone structure and reviews notes from previous campaigns.
